ASHA Grants

Multiplying The Power of Your Gifts
MBF applies each year for grants from American Schools & Hospitals Abroad (ASHA), a division of USAID. Since 1976, MBF has received over 45 grants worth over $22 million to build and renovate hospitals and schools as well as purchase furnishings and medical equipment.

MBF is required to provide shared funding for each grant, equaling a percentage of the grant amount. What this essentially amounts to is this: when you donate to help MBF fulfill shared funding obligations for AHSA grants, you are multiplying the power of your gifts. For example, if the MBF shared funding obligation for an ASHA grant were 25% of the grant amount, this would equate to $4 extra going toward a cause for every $1 you donate!
